Nursing Education Mobility Pathway (NEMP)

FOUR STEPS

STEP ONE:

Students must possess one of the following certificates or degrees:

Nursing Assistant Certificate

Medical Assistant Certificate or higher
Paramedic Certificate or higher
Surgical Technology Therapy Diploma or higher
Radiography Diploma or higher
Diagnostic Sonography or higher
Physical Therapist Assistant or higher

Certificate must have included the following courses:
MNA 100 or its equivalent
Anatomy & Physiology course (AHS 109 or BIO 135 or higher)
Computer Literacy course (CPU 150 or CIS 100)
Communications course (COM 181 or COM 252 or TEC 200 or ENG 101)

STEP TWO:

Attend a Practical Nursing Pre-admission Conference.

Meet the application and admission requirements for the Practical Nursing Program.

Complete the following courses upon acceptance to the program:
NPN 115--PN Bridge Course

Choose one of the following course(s):
AHS 100 Human Growth and Development--meets requirements for the PN program
PY 110 and PSY 223--meets requirements for the RN program

STEP THREE:

 Enroll in the part-time Practical Nursing Program at second semester.

STEP FOUR:

Successfully complete the Practical Nursing Diploma and the required LPN-ADN general education courses and admission requirements. See the LPN-RN program for more information.
