Nursing Assistant Program

At West Kentucky Community and Technical College, we prepare students to fill a critical role of the nursing assistant in the health care industry. The nursing assistant functions under the supervision of the licensed nurse (LPN or RN) and assists in caring for the hygiene, comfort, exercise and safety. Moving patients, observing and reporting client conditions, collecting specimens and giving emotional comfort are also part of being a nurse aide. The nursing assistant may be employed in a variety of settings.

Programs combine lecture and clinical laboratory to prepare the student to take the state competency test and earn placement on the Kentucky Nurse Aide Registry.
