Introduction to the Integrated Practicum
The focus of the integrated practicum is on the synthesis and
application of the core components of nursing and the transition
from student to graduate nurse. Emphasis is on leadership, management
of care, skilll development and professionalism.
The capstone clinical experience consists of 120 clock hours of
concentrated direct patient care in a health care facility to
be completed within a 7-week period during the final semester
of the nursing program.
New Preceptors must complete the online orientation program and
submit certificate of completion prior to precepting a student.
The orientation also offers a great review for preceptors that
have not participated in the practicum for two (2) semester.
